Done Spooked myself.....

LOL, Im such a big chicken when it comes to Halloween and any kind of scary movie. As I was picking out the songs for my new playlist for Halloween, I could not help but get an uneasy feelin'. Im such a nerd. I just had to share this with y'all.

LOL, Im one of those who likes to scare rather than be scared. I have never been one to go out and do the Haunted trails or houses. Im just a big chicken. As I have already stated. I like to be safe in my environment and know everything that is around me.

I cant watch scary movies at night either. I have to watch them in the daylight. How silly is that? The last scary movie I went to see was Halloween you know the Rob Zombie one. I jumped and screamed through the whole thing. Pathetic.....

So, I hope I dont freak y'all out too much. But I had to put some of my favorite halloween movie theme songs on here.

*~A Great First Day Back~*

Well, first day of school seemed to go really well for Josh. He said that he loves it. I think thats good for the first day and all. We'll see how he is in about a month or so. I remember loving high school too. I loved the social part of it, not the classes. LOL.

It's tough though. He was telling me about a guy that goes to our church. They have been knowing each other forever. Anyway, he came home tellin me how guys who are juniors will talk to'em and this one guy wont even acknowlede him. How do you deal with that. It's sad though. I guess that's just how kids are. I told'em not to worry about it, it will all work out.

He talked about how nasty the bathrooms are. LOL, I told him he should expect that. They were not in good condition when I was there either. Ewww, sorry...LOL.

Lunch time he said he didnt have to eat by himself. I think he was nervous about that. I use to hate lunch time too. Finding people to sit with and whatever. One of the guys he hangs out with down the road from us let'em sit with him.

Gosh why does it have to be so hard on'em? Funny how they have their own little clicks. Much harder than middle school. I try to tell'em all the time to make the best of his last four years. When he gets my age he will wish he could go back.

So, how did it go for your children? I hope they have all had a great first day and week for some.

First Day of School.... WhoooHoo!!

Dont get me wrong, I love my kids. But today is the first day of school and I am soooo glad. I hate to see the summer come to an end for Josh, but it's time. Im tellin' ya. I thought that with Josh and Wesley being so different in age that there wouldnt be any fighting. HA! That's allll they do. They are both so head strong it aint even funny.

Josh is 14 and tries to help, but he only ends up makin' things worse. And they both fret each other until it turns into a screamin' match. Plus Josh gets borded I get bored and then you just have to say "It's Time".

Josh did say that he was not ready to go back, but then again he is ready. That's funny I think. I mean they just know. Ya know.

I dont have a picture. Josh has gotten a little to old for that.

The Final Countdown

Well, it's here. The final countdown. School will start back on the 25th. It's hard to believe that Josh will be a freshman in High School. I am soooo nervous for him. I asked him the other day if he was scared and he said, "Naaawww". I think that will change come the first day. It's tough for kids these days. I only pray that he will do good.

Going to High School means so many new things. I know that there will be Friday night football games, dances and so much more. I will have to send his daddy with him to the football games, that kinda thing dont appeal to me.

He got his schedule the other day. Some of his teachers I remember from when I was there. One of them was my History teacher in the 11th grade. So much has changed since I was in High School. All the block classes and things like that. Its hard for me to adjust to. He will have 8 classes. 4 first semister and 4 second semister. I just dont understand how he can get full credits for half a year class. I guess I will learn it though.

He also took Air Force ROTC. So that will be uniforms and military style balls. How exciting for him. I hope he will stick with that. I know it will be hard, and to tell the truth Josh is lazy. We'll see how that works out.

He will start driver's ed in the fall. Oh my, something else to worry about. Where has the time gone? I remember his first day of Kindergarden like it was yesterday. It makes me sad to know that they grow up soooo fast.

Here's wishing you the best Josh. I love ya.

Gotta Love those kids.

I got this in an email this morning and thought it was too cute not to share. The things kids will say:

What, you ask, is 'Butt dust?' Read on and you'll discover the joy in it! These have to be original and genuine. No adult is this creative!!

JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After a while he asked: 'Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?'

MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.'

STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'

BRITTANY (age 4) had an ear ache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'

SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said, 'It makes my teeth cough.'

DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost? '

MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'

CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in it?'

JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.' Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea ? '

TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget.... this particular Sunday sermon...'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

She is not gonna like it that I posted these pictures of her. But oh well, Love ya mama...

This is a picture of me and mama on Christmas morning 1976.

This is a picture of mama and my brother at my wedding.

School Shopping

Oh my word. I took Josh school shopping today. School starts in 3 weeks. That is sooo hard to believe. He will be a freshman this year. Gosh I remember when he started Kindergarden. Just like yesterday. Man where does the time go?

My Mama took him this afternoon and got'em a few things, however the jeans he got didnt fit, so I took him back. And I bought him a few more things. Clothes are sooo expensive. The mall wasnt too crowded, which was a good thing. And it was tax free weekend for us. I appreciate that our state and neighboring states do that. Saves some money anyway.

I still have all his supplies to get and I will be done. He did say that he wants to get some Carhart and Dixie Outfitters. So look out paycheck!!!

So how about y'all when does school start for your kids?

It's been a pretty uneventful week

I have been so bad about not posting on this blog. We have not had much goin' on around here. It's been pretty quiet. I had a few things to run and do on Monday, Tuesday I had a Tupperware Party and did pretty good with that. I was pleased. Wedneday and Thurday I worked for a few hours. And now here it is the weekend. No major plans for that either.

My cousin called and wants the boys to come up this evening and go swimming. That should be fun for them. I am afraid I will have to put a bathing suit on this body, cause Wesley probably wont get in without me. Lordy, its been years since this body was in a bathing suit. I hate the thought of it. I will take my camera with me so I can share pictures of the boys.

I have to run to town this morning and pick up a few things. I think I might run by the Goodwill to see what they have there. It all depends. I am also gonna drop by my friend Angie's to give her her birthday present. I sure hope she likes it.

So that has been my week. Nothing exciting I know. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Until next time..
