I had a visit with my Nannie last night. She lives up and across the road from me. Anyway, I went up to spend some time with her last night, and she just talked and talked. About things she did as a child, when she met my papa, chores she and her sister had as children. Stuff like that. I hope to share of them with y'all. She gave me a scrapbook that she kept as a little girl. There wasnt much in there, but what she had was just as sweet as could be. As I get older I appreciate the stories that she tells me. I dont know much about either of them as far as their childhood, but Nannie is slowly but surely filling me with her wonderful memories.

Tammy,
Sounds like a nice visit :)
I talk to my Gran (maternal grandmother) several times a week. We started chatting on the phone when I became a SAHM and it's continued. She talks to me and two of my cousin's, too. She jokes that she hears from her granddaughters more than her own daughters and knows more about what's going on in our lives.
Some people get annoyed with Gran because she has an amazing memory and seems to know a lot. She didn't really have an hobbies so it appears her "hobby" is just knowing how people connect...like how they are related, who married who, who worked where, where they live. She has a knack for it. Jer finds it annoying because she knows so much but it's neat, too. Many people could care less who their neighbors are and little do they probably realize that they just might be related! Well, at least it's that way around here!
Hope you have a great day!
I know what you mean by that Leslie. My great Aunt was that way. She knew everything about everybody. Who married who, how many times this one was married, how many kids they had. And so it.
She tried to tell me at one time. I was young though and didnt really care about all the family stuff. Now that I am older I wish I had written down everything she told me.
I have lost all of that now. So I decided when I have talks like that with Nannie I would write them down. Its funny when we're younger how things dont matter. I wish I had taken the time to write it down though.
I hope you have a great day too.
