The Joy and Pain

Before:

The pain of having a tin roof. Some of you may know what Im talking about. We have the old tin that has to be painted every so many years. I wish that we could put the new tin that requires no painting, but right now that is just not an option. Right now that is the pain we are experiencing. Hubby has been busy all day painting our roof. It will look so much better when he gets through.

The joy of a tin roof. I love the look of the tin. Gives the house that old age look. I love it when it rains. The sound the rain makes on the roof is so soothing. I could just sleep and sleep when it rains.

There is so much that needs to be done. Shutters need to be repaired and painted, the windows on the outside need to be painted, and my list could go on and on... Its tough owning your own home. There is always something that needs to be done.

I know what you are talking about :) We have an old tin roof on our trailer and every couple of years, Jer climbs up there and slaps another coat of aluminum coating on it.

I don't know if others have the problem we do but I hate the tin roof when it's windy. It bends and cracks and it's kind of scary!

Your roof looks good :) So many people around here don't worry about taking care of theirs :(

Its tough huh Leslie? I dont mind so much when the wind blows. When Jay and I first got married, we lived in a single wide and I know whatcha mean about the cracks and bends. I hated when a storm came up. I would leave and go to my mama and daddy's.. Silly huh?

Thanks for the comment about the roof. I didnt think anyone would be able to tell it had been painted. LOL. Not such good pictures.

Not many people around here take of their homes either. But I will. Its the only one I will ever have. So I'll take care of it.

Thanks for commenting though.

Have a good one.

That's how I see it...it's my home and even if it's not a castle, it's going to look good!

I think people can have a house that is in disrepair but if you keep the yard mowed, shrubs and bushes under control and make it look nice, people look past the fact that you don't have the money to spring for new siding, ya know?

I get more scared with the windstorms after two years ago. We got a BIG gust and our back porch roof came loose, flew up and slammed off the roof and off it went down the road! The sound it made! EEK I thought I would go back in the bathroom and see daylight because the roof ripped off! What happened was the board that the metal roof was attached to had been slowly rotting. Jeremy knew it was bad and he went and replaced the stairs and floor and never got around to replacing that piece. The wind ripped the screws right out of the board and took the board with it. If he would have only fixed it, we wouldn't have had a problem! LOL

Yeah I had to break down and tell Jay this morning that I want to rip those holly trees out. I like them at first, but now I just cant stand to look at'em... He was not happy at all..
